DIY Honeycomb Cherry Cupcake Topper Valentines

Looking for a super cute valentine to make and give this Valentine’s Day? These honeycomb cherry DIY cupcake toppers turn pink honeycomb picks into the cutest cherries complete with a leaf message perfect for topping cupcakes for Valentine’s Day. Not only are they super adorable, but they are so simple too. So you won’t end up pulling your hair out when you commit to making 20 for your kids classmates. Ha!

Supplies needed to make your own Valentine DIY cupcake toppers:

DIY Honeycomb Cherry Cupcake Topper ValentinesBegin by cutting the toothpick end of the honeycomb picks in half. Then cut a 6″ long piece of green streamer.

DIY Honeycomb Cherry Cupcake Topper ValentinesPlace the pick on the green streamer at a slight angle and glue into place. Then roll the streamer around the pick to create a long cherry stem. Leave the last 1″ of streamer unrolled and glue the streamer end onto the stem to secure the crepe paper. Then cut the end piece of the streamer into a leaf shape.

Next, use a dab of glue to glue the toothpick ends that you cut off in the beginning into the bottom of the honeycomb cherries. This will create a pick that you can put into the cupcake frosting to hold the cherries in place.

I went with “I Pick You”. Cute and on theme! Then just hot glue the leaf to the cherries and add to store bought or homemade cupcakes.

I think these cherries are adorable and what kid (or adult) wouldn’t want a tasty cupcake treat for Valentine’s Day?

What other fruit could you make from these honeycomb picks? Maybe oranges with a message of “I find you appealing”? That would be cute too don’t you think?!
